About myself & my Background:

Hello there.

My name is Daniel Arturo Martinez Martinez.
But you can just call me Dan Martinez. My Pronouns are He/Him. 
&
I currently hold a Dual Canadian/Mexican Citizenship.

I live in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia,
on the traditional and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish,
and Tsleil-Waututh peoples.

In fact, I've been living in Vancouver for the past 25+ years since
June 29 1999.

I've been interested in animation since then when my parents rented Classic Disney movies on VHS
and they sometimes let me watch THE SIMPSONS, King of the Hill, etc. on Tv.

As the years went by,
my interests expanded into other ventures such as film editorial, lighting,
UV mapping, music, film history, video games, 
and even building computers for friends, family, and community centers.
 


On January 2020, I applied to the Animation Art and Design program at Lasalle College Vancouver. That's where I studied 2D animation, 3D animation, 3D modeling, Concept Illustration, rigging, CG lighting, Acting and Pantomime,
Body Mechanics, VFX, etc.

It's also where I participated in one of my biggest team projects to date: CATTITUDE-A LASALLE STUDENT FILM.
That was where I collaborated on making the film with all my animation knowledge as well as my knowledge of Lighting, Texture, and Camera. While the animation was split between me and my fellow students, I was in charge of the entire final edit.

Although my passions are Hand-Drawn, Frame by Frame 2D Animation,
I'm also proficient in 3D animation, 2D puppet rigs, lighting, material and texture, writing, character design, and layouts.
