Pastel Atmosphere with Trees

Sigh.....

My USB Stick doesn't cease to amuse me but it has and I'm thankful for that.

I just realized I hadn't done a physical painting for a while so I was browsing through my USB stick and came across this photo scan of one of my other paintings.

The scan was actually for an advertisement I was making for a Community Centre's art show but I figured instead of showing the ad I was making, why not show the raw drawing I scanned on that HP Printer. It's much more fun to show off the original drawing before you make the poster.

Instead of acrylic paint, this one was made on pastels. The idea was to provide a gradient on a canvas. The yellow was the sunset but if you look upward to the top of the canvas, it gets bluer, sort of like how dark it gets when you're on a rocket launched into space and you passed through the sound barrier.

Also, I drew silhouettes of trees on the canvas to liven it up.

For those who are asking
, the blob on the middle right is actually a plane flying in the air.

Thought it was about time to do another physical drawing not done on a computer for a change and I sure nailed this one justice.

1930's Office BG.png

1930's Detective's Office

I almost forgot about this.

This is a Detective's Office circa 1935 or 1936 so expect to see things such as Hardwood floors, floral wallpaper, popcorn ceiling, radiators, Rotary telephones, grandfather clocks,
File Cabinets, Coat Hangers, ceiling fans,
Vacuum Tube Radios, Black and White Photos, and a whole lot of period accurate stuff.

This BG was actually meant for a project made for one of my animation classes in College.

Y'know, this might actually be a late 30's office circa 1938 so my guess is that Orson Welle's WAR OF THE WORLDS radio drama was broadcast on that radio.

Brentwood Kitchen

This is the kitchen where my characters cook their dinners, wash dishes, scold their pets, etc.

This was based off an earlier drawing I did many years ago... I think it was 2014 when I made the original version. Anyhow, this is the updated version circa 2017.

I made a few changes  such as fixing the perspective, lighting, texture, and staging.

The Forest

Hey. I can do very nice painterly Backgrounds of nature. It's not that hard. You just got to be patient with both your wrist and your x64 CPU.

Anyway, Here's a another Background drawing  to really show off that beautiful bliss of nature.

AMC Silvercity Mutliplex

Before I settled in on GOLDENCITY CINEMAS as the main multiplex theater for my characters, I made this early multiplex design way back in 2016.

I essentially used the exterior design from Silvercity Riverport at Richmond, BC but since my characters live in the USA , I changed the Cineplex sign to AMC... before I decided to make the theater independent.

I have two version of this background but this is the one where I applied advanced lights.

Brentwood Residence

Wide angle shot of the Brentwood Residence. This was a bit of a killer but was worth it, especially the attention to detail that I crave.

For the 4 years I had my MacBook Pro,
this was used as my Desktop Wallpaper.

Goldencity Cinemas

Have you noticed the multiplex theaters you see in cartoons are independently run? Well I decided to hop on that bandwagon as well.

What's not shown here are the two IMAX theaters that this cinema boasts? My apologies for image size but I was confined to a 1440x1080 workspace when I was painting this.

Yes, having 2 Imax Theatres in a multiplex is unrealistic at best but that's the beauty of cartoons, you can warp reality.

The Deserted Island

Make no mistake, this island is indeed deserted... or is it just a peninsula disguised as a deserted Island? Who knows but it's one of my more recent pieces of background art.

Ridge Theater Immortalized

To be honest, I never went to the Ridge Theater in Vancouver but I understand how upset many people were when that theater was demolished back in the mid-2010s.

A lot of my paintings were done digitally but it doesn't hurt to create artwork on an actual physical canvas and this is one of the few I have in my portfolio.

And for Star Wars fans
(Especially for Non-special edition purists),
I decided to include on the marquee episode 4 A NEW HOPE...
(The April 10 1981 version that is.)

Original Physical Painting currently in my collection.

Laundromat Vending Machines

One of my attempts to combine abstractness with realistic lighting.... quite.

Forgive the absence of the telephone receiver. I had characters originally and one of them held the telephone receiver but what I'm showing is the clean, isolated version without the characters.

Also, the setting for this background is supposed to take place in the early 22nd Century which may explain the choice for LEDS for the drinks.

House in Templeton Street

I used to live in this Neighborhood close to Templeton High School but I've since moved out and the high school I ultimately went to was Britannia High School.

But that didn't stop me from referencing an old photo I took with my Nintendo 3DS and creating a painting based on a building location.
