Bio
Mistaken for Ran
This was made during my sophomore year at Lasalle College.
I was into Ranma 1/2, in fact I still am, so I took some audio from the English dub and made this lip-sync and pantomime animation in Maya.
The original 2021 animation however was rough around the edges. I exclusively animated both Kayla and Jasper in IK for their arms when I should have animated them in FK and save the IK for held-pose specific uses.
Also, Jasper's original rig had some bugs that were addressed in future version of him.
I've since lost the original MAYA file but luckily,
I extracted the audio and redid the animation with better keyframes. Plus I know FK Hand gestures better so I'm dealt with that too.
Still presenting this in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio
of the original animation because I can.
Here is the updated animation right here which has now replaced the JANKY original from 2021.
You're watching the Mark 09 Revision....
And with new updates on the horizon...
No, I will not replace the audio from Netfliix's IYUNO DUB of RANMA 1/2.
This animation only works with the original
OCEAN DUB of RANMA 1/2.
Enough said, now I must get back to work.

"Neko, a ranger cat, steals a diamond from a chateau in the fog but his theft inadvertently pisses off some literal guard dogs.
So now he has to get the out of there while avoiding obstacles along the way."
This Lasalle College student film is one of my biggest collaborations to date. It was made during my senior year in college.
Although the story was not my idea (it was Arthur Ponzeto's),
I felt like I ended up having most of the credit since I handled the textures, lighting, and final editorial.
But still, it's a major achievement. The only issues I have are for some of my editing choices for sound and camera cuts.
But in my opinion, rendering was the biggest hurdle. For some reason, the school's render farms weren't functioning well network-wise so we had to batch render locally in the school computers which nearly killed them due to the combination of Intel i5 and i7 CPUS
and GTX 980 and 1080 graphics card that were used.
Had the computers used AMD Ryzen Threadripper CPUs and RTX 3090 GPUs, we wouldn't have any of those issues. Oh Well.
If possible, I'd like to go back and recut this film but until then, enjoy this current version.
I'm still considering recutting this animation with a better edit but I'm unsure whether I want to rerender the animations.
My custom built Maverick Falcon 7900RT is capable to doing so but...

The Mind Screw - I've Seen Nothing
Bipedal animation, with my own acting, and lip sync.
This was based on a select scene from my
Final Capstone animation project which was reviewed by some animation experts as convoluted due to the sheer amount of characters and the erratic acting used. Plus, the Maya scene was very heavy so it was sort of a burden on my
MSI Laptop's Nvidia GTX 1050 Chipset.
So what I did was I've shortened it down to my favorite scene: Jasper scares the Mr. Buttons by popping out of Bender's chest cavity.
Several revisions, and two custom built PCs later, here's the current update.
Check it out on the left of this description.

(This has been recently updated with a new 60fps playblast)
This animation piece was not made during my college years. It was made after graduation. I was missing a fight scene but I didn't have an elaborate one on hand... yet. So until that's made, I made a simpler, more down to earth one.
After several playblasts, here's the end result.
And still improving.
This is a new update where I changed the camera as well as fixed a few poses. The original was a little longer but I changed that and now... ok. I don't want to spoil the plot so watch it and see for yourself.
And it may as well be the last update because back in October 28 2023, Matthew Perry died.
Because Kyle's Dialogue used Perry's voice for the animation, I decided not to update the animation any further out of respect for the late actor.
I was considering abandoning this animation after the death of actor Mathew Perry in
October 23 2023 since the audio used his voice, but recently, the news of his suspects being put to justice has reinvigorated my interest in revisiting this animation.

Bored Schmucks
Inspired by Ralph Bakshi's push to invent original acting as a way to properly compete with Disney acting, I made this animation during my sophomore years where I filmed my two classmates Arthur and Tiago. Then I took the Aang and Malcolm rigs into Maya and churned out this performance.
It's also where I ran into some hurdles I had to solve such as seamless FK/IK switches, keeping my characters alive, etc.
All in all, I can say, I'm satisfied with the end result.
My only issue is some of the poses that were left untouched such as Malcolm not bending forward when he sighs.
I wish I could fix it but unfortunately I lost the Maya file so fixing it is out of the question.
I will have to reconstruct the scene and study my keyframes so I can at least replicate the original.

Interview / Date Gone Wrong
Animation made during my final capstone years.
The acting performance here is based on my preference for live-action style acting you see in movies and video games so that's what I did. For some reason, it demonstrated my ability to finish too quickly.
This animation piece is currently on my
demo reel.
Unfortunately, I've lost the Maya file for this animation so no 60fps version for this one.
