Backstory:
After a year spent with my Maverick Warhawk 5900x Build, I started to get envious with my
April 2024 Building of the Streaming PC for my Church.
That PC as of 2024 used the then BRAND SPANKING NEW(2 years since it's 2022 Launch) AM5 Socket.
And my PC at this point was stuck with AM4 which to me was already Long in the tooth for 2024.
So after I had dealt with my Autodesk Maya License Payments, I decided to use my Tax Returns to plan a Motherboard Swap in my PC.
I bought a GIGABYTE AORUS AM5 Motherboard because why not.
Many changes happened with this build.
For one, the motherboard as mention above uses Socket AM5 instead of AM4,
The board uses LGA for the Socket instead of PGA because different socket,
Because of the change of hardware, my Memory now uses DDR5 Memory so that meant
getting new Corsair RAM sticks for my build(It's still 32gb of dual-channel DDR5)
The board is now full ATX whereas, my AM4 motherboard previously was Micro-ATX.
And I also changed my Power Supply because I really wanted a 1000 Watt Unit but...
the 1000w PSUs out there were not at an agreeable price range I was looking for.
The Seasonic Focus GX-1000 I chose was on Sale so I bought that.
Another reason for going for 1000w is because I anticipate another GPU upgrade in 2025 and If you can imagine that, the wattage on the upgrade will go up so getting a 1000w was necessary.
And because my motherboard has an extra SSD Slot, I bought another SSD for my new build
because I wanted to separate my internal DATA and Game Storage.
Though this time, Instead of going with another Samsung, I went with Lexar.
All-In-All, those are the only changes.
I'm still using my Fractal POP air Mid-Tower Case,
But I did modify my Fans.
Now I'm using my Thermaltake Pure 12 Fans.
(Two for Front Intake, One for rear Exhaust.)
I'm still using my DeepCool AK620 Air Cooler from my previous build.
I was considering swapping that out for a Noctua or Be Quiet! equivalent but I was on a budget so I just reused my cooler from the previous rig.
And I'm still using my RTX 4080 GPU from the Previous Rig because I need a dedicated GPU for my workloads
and I was not on board with using the Integrated Radeon Graphics my AMD Ryzen 9 7900x3D uses.
The PC had went through many changes starting around the end of 2024.
First, I replaced the SAITOR Webcam I was using which I borrowed from my Workplace and in it's place is a
CREATIVE 4K Webcam.
Next came in late November 2024 when I replaced my Razer Deathadder Elite mouse
with a LOGITECH G502 Hero Gaming Mouse.
Next was around the beginning of December 2024 when I replaced my Razer Yellow Switch Keyboard with an
EPOMAKER DYNATAB 75 Keyboard.
I like it due to a multitude of factors:
It's gasket mounted which means I can replace the switches which I did later in March 2025 when I replaced all the Wisteria Switches with AKKO Matcha V3 Green Switches,
It's Thocky which means with Linear Switches, I can sound quiet or softer without too much noise.
& finally, it's a 3-in-1 Design which means I can can opt to use it wired, wireless with it's 2.4ghz Dongle, or wireless with Bluetooth, though I prefer to use it wirelessly with it's dongle and I only use it with it's cable when I need to recharge the Keyboard's Battery.
Next was when I replaced my CANON Printer with another CANON printer due to the previous one being a 2020 purchase so a change was a must.
In January 2025, I purchased an AVERMEDIA capture device meant for capturing games and movies.
The next major change came in late May 2025 when I purchased an Ultrawide monitor.
It's taken the place of my previous ASUS Monitor which has since taken the place of my old ACER Nitro Monitor
that I've had since August 2021.
Next up was in late June 2025 when I bought a pair of MACKIE CR3-X Reference Monitor Speakers
for my desk setup and I've now since replace my old Logitechs with it.
On June 22 2025, I had some hardware issues that may be a result of some bad ram I had but before I could trace that problem to them and replace the ram, I updated my motherboard's BIOS from F20 to F34.
(I decided against F35 or F36 due to PCIE Gen5 Speed Crippling.)
Around the beginning of August 2025,
I bought a similar set of Corsair Vengeance 32gb DDR5 Dual Channel U-Dimm RAM,
but unlike my previous sticks, I went with the model that has RGB Built-in.
I set the RAM to AMD EXPO, and it worked.
Around August 28 2025, I finally bought my coveted AMD RYZEN 9 9950X3D CPU,
but before I could install it, I decided to change my CPU Cooler.
I know I said in the past that an AIO was out of the question,
I've since conceded due to how I anticipate how hot the 9950x3D is going to be
even with my AORUS motherboard's best VRM Cooling.
Plus, them AIOs are starting to become better so I decided to take a shot at it
and bought the CORSAIR iCUE LINK TITAN RX RGB 240MM AIO for my new Ryzen 9 CPU.
After installation and some much needed redoing of Cable Management,
I turned on the PC, reset the BIOS' ftpm, reenabled AMD EXPO, and PRESTO
new upgrade to the Ryzen 9000 Series.
