Backstory of my MacBook Pro
The HP Pavilion Laptop served my purpose well but before that, I wanted a Mac.
To be fair, this MacBook was not my first apple product. It was actually a IMac G3 but that was a long time ago.
Anyway, this hand me down MacBook Pro was a gift from a friend of my mother's and I got it after I graduated from
High School and prepared for my first entrance to animation school.
(Which has a somewhat messy history I don't want to dive into at the moment.)
So what happened to the Pavilion? I gave it to my mother.
What were my specs?
Spec woes? You bet your ass I had spec woes as usual.
But then again, this was Apple Hardware which is notorious for having their computers go obsolete pretty quickly as well as notorious for somewhat overpricing their hardware.
For one, It had a Core 2 Duo clocked at 2.53GHZ. So it is a 64-Bit laptop but I mostly ran 32-bit Software for better compatibility.
Thank balls the laptop had a graphics chip.
Sure, the Nvidia GeForce 9400M GPU is 2009 territory for graphics but It's miles better than the integrated crap that I had to deal with from the HP Pavilion.
Anyway, I barely know more about the specs so instead, I'm just going to put up this link to the specs:

What did is use my MacBook for?
I was graduated from high school and entering college...(Messy History alert.)
However, Most of what I did was mostly just my own art since it had Adobe CS6 installed previously.
Also, most of what I did was browsing the web.
Oh, and due to the hardware, I could only upgrade as high as Mac OS El Capitan.
(I never upgraded past Mac OSX Mavericks.)
And if you're wondering, Yes, I did play DVDs on this thing. Unlike my HP Pavilion which had a tray drive, My MacBook had a slot loader. I will admit, the slot loading drive was a bit temperamental but I managed.
Despite buying the machine for school related stuff, I barely used it for school due to the lack of Wi-fi in the various basements suites I moved into. Alongside that, I had to use my mother's Dell Inspiron Laptop to get the installers for apps I need.
What happened to my Macbook?
OK OK. No more excuses about my messy college history.
The truth was, I was arrogant and I unknowingly dropped out... or more like I forgot to register for the Winter 2017 semester.
So for 2 years with no art education and no job, I was left to my own devices....
Then I went back to college and this time, payed more attention to my semesters.
But the poor MacBook couldn't keep up with the hot new gadgets of the emerging 2020s.
I found out the hard way when I installed Autodesk Maya 2018 in the laptop but It wouldn't start the software properly.
And this was before I found out that the Intel processor in my MacBook supported installing Windows.
But alas, I was done. I managed my first semester but then by March 2020, a month before my second semester,
Covid-19 happened and I felt the MacBook was no good for my studies so I switched back to Windows for the remainder of my classes.
Despite that, I still kept my MacBook despite migrating my files to my MSI Laptop.
I actually had to use Adobe Premiere Pro on my MacBook Pro so I can circumvent the cache issues in my MSI Laptop.
By Christmas of 2021, I decided to send the MacBook to my cousin in Mexico.
And thus ends that chapter.
(sigh) Memories.
